Our Approach
At the Viney Wallach Foundation, we aim to:
- Align our investments with like-minded funders and capacity-building organizations to maximize impact and minimize distraction from mission
- Value diverse perspectives and intentionally engage with the wide spectrum of individuals and organizations who make up our community.
- Reduce the burden on the nonprofits we fund by streamlining reporting requirements and minimizing the recipient’s fund development expenses
- Make grants exclusively for general operating funds, unrestricted to a particular segment of the institution or any particular programming
- Encourage others to join in our giving and educate them around the issues we are passionate about addressing
TYPES OF INVESTMENTS
seed grants
Seed grants are typically small, first-time grants and are intended to cover the costs of our becoming more acquainted with the methods and outcomes of the nonprofits we are considering to fund
Sustaining grants
Sustaining grants are longer term commitments meant to provide the resources to maintain the operations and outputs of an ongoing, well-performing nonprofit in our portfolio
Growth Grants
Typically larger investments, our growth grants are intended to propel an organization to further reach, whether to serve a wider population or otherwise enhance its scope and ability to deliver social good
